Bumi Uthiri was conceived on the notion that the tonally rich and complex instruments of Java are means of transportation into realms that exist in relation to humanity’s future ancient times.

It is aimed to provide an alternative study on Javanese gamelan composition and to experiment with its known and unknown structures - while still adhering to its core essence of reaching alignment within life principles and harmonization between conflicting ideals.

These two pieces were strictly made out of the live performance and individual sample recordings that were done using a single condenser mic on-site. The results were then torn apart and reassembled using digital signal processing and audio manipulation.

No additional sound sources and instruments were used.
