Very Cold Is an album of cold electronic music. It mixes sample heavy, distorted, and often bass rooted music with noise and a feeling of absolute dread. It was inspired by spending a week in the frozen north woods of Wisconsin. The Smudge was snowed in. Each track carries a descent into absolute dark. It wants to be found and slid down. Very Cold has a freezing demeanor on each breathy, snow snapping cut, but doesn't fail to leave the stage without a quick laugh at itself. The Smudge submitted this EP (along with album art by Bucko Crooks), to be the first "solo" installment of the new Galactic Intolerance Records catalog. It counts as release [GIR000].
