Recordings made in the Province of La Paz, Bolivia, from 1955 to 1973

Tracks 1 to 8 feature Kantu music, a dance of the Quechua-speaking inhabitants of the Charazani region (Bautista Saavedra province)
Tracks 1 to 4 were performed by 20 musicians of the Chari community
Tracks 5 to 8 were performed by 19 musicians of the Kaalaya community
Track 9 was recorded on June 29, 1956 in Cañaviri (Aroma province), during the feast of Saints Peter and Paul
Track 10 and 11 are devoted to music for the dance of the Khunturis, also called Takiri, or "dance of the Condors", recorded July 25, 1955, in Corocor (Pacajes province)
Track 12 was recorded September 8, 1956, in Peñas (Los Andes province)
Track 13 is a wayno theme recorded September 24, 1973
