When legendary american rapper Del The Funky Homosapien came to Brazil in 2012 with band Deltron 3030, one of the talents involved in this team, groove connoisseur DJ PG, presented him with a worshiped but obscure album of our funky music.

But PG didn’t know that Del was going to freak out with the album and return the gift in form of beats. The MC and producer was so fascinated by the firecracker sound he produced a beat for each one of the twelve tracks.

Initially, the idea was just to thank PG for the gift. But another of his long term musical partners, MC Ladybug Mecca, who made history inside the group Digable Planets, twisted the plot. She convinced Del that keeping that album just between them would be a big waste for the history of music worldwide. It was the cue for 3rd World Vision, an album that puts Del even closer to Brazilian contemporary music in form of RAP.

With executive production of Rodrigo Brandão, member of groups such as Zulumbi and Mamelo Sound System, the project puts together names like BNegão, Jorge du Peixe (Nação Zumbi), Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets), Ogi, Espião and DJ Nuts, plus the musicians M. Takara and Marcos Gerez (both from Hurtmold band), besides PG, Brandão and, of course, Del .

The results are astonishing, with abstract and aggressive beats designed by the rhymes and melodies of this dream team of guest. After the Brazilian sneaker brand ÖUS signed a contract with Del in Brazil to develop partnerships and collabs, the bond between the american rapper and Brazilian music grew so big he even felt comfortable to risk some rhymes in portuguese for the track #CDV – Circulo da Vida.

3rd World Vision was released in digital format, with exclusive free download here at Só Pedrada Musical. The album will also have a limited vinyl edition with ÖUS support.

Due to the family of Pedro Santos never licensing the samples, the record was never made available commercially. To counter this measure on the opening tour, a t-shirt was made available as the physical object of the release. The LP would be offered to anyone who would buy the t-shirt. All 300 copies were sold out during the presentation tour in September of 2015.
